As smart factories integrate digital twins, AI inspection, and autonomous mobile robots (AGVs/AMRs), traditional industrial WiFi networks face severe bottlenecks in device density, latency, and roaming continuity. This article compares Industrial APs with 5G Industrial Routers, highlights the technical limits of Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs), and explains why a 5G + WiFi hybrid architecture is becoming the mainstream choice for manufacturing.
