Can WR578 power connected PoE devices?
Yes. WR578 has four Gigabit Ethernet PoE-PSE ports compliant with IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at, delivering up to 30 W per port. Size the power supply for the router and the combined load of the connected PoE devices.
What connections does WR578 offer besides PoE Ethernet?
WR578 combines sub-6 GHz 5G SA and NSA, Wi-Fi 6 AX1800, one RS232 port and one RS485 port. It also provides digital inputs and outputs, an analog input and a relay.
How should WR578 be powered?
WR578 uses a four-pin Molex power connector and supports a 48–58 V DC input. Select a power supply that covers both the router and its connected PoE loads, and check the ordered unit's rating before installation.
Can WR578 switch to cellular if its Ethernet WAN fails?
Yes. WR578 supports failover between Ethernet WAN and cellular WAN. Configure the primary and backup connections and the failure-detection policy for your deployment. Existing sessions may need to reconnect when the WAN changes.
Can WR578 support VPN access and industrial data communication?
Yes. WR578 supports WireGuard, OpenVPN and IPsec for VPN access, as well as Modbus TCP client/server and MQTT broker, publisher and gateway functions. Configure VPN routing and the required device data mapping for your application.
