Does WR153 support 5G RedCap?
Yes. WR153 uses 5G RedCap and is compatible with 5G SA and 4G LTE. Check RedCap availability and the required frequency bands with your local operator when choosing a SIM plan.
Can WR153 connect to both Ethernet and serial equipment?
WR153 provides two 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports and one serial interface, available as RS232 or RS485 depending on the variant. Specify the serial interface required by your connected device when ordering.
How should WR153 be powered?
WR153 can receive power through its two-pin DC terminal block or its passive PoE PD interface. The PoE PD interface receives power; it does not supply power to downstream PoE devices. Check the ordered unit’s input rating and use a compatible passive PoE supply before installation.
Can WR153 switch to cellular if its Ethernet WAN fails?
Yes. WR153 supports failover between Ethernet WAN and cellular WAN. Configure the primary and backup connections and the failure-detection policy for your deployment. Existing sessions may need to reconnect when the WAN changes.
Can WR153 support VPN access and industrial data communication?
Yes. WR153 supports WireGuard, OpenVPN and IPsec for VPN access, as well as Modbus TCP client/server and MQTT broker, publisher and gateway functions. Configure VPN routing and the required device data mapping for your application.
