What connections does WR244 provide for a small industrial network?
WR244 combines 4G LTE Cat 4, four 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. It supports wall mounting and DIN-rail mounting for cabinet installations.
Which model should I compare with WR244 for RS232 and RS485 devices?
Compare WR244 with WR245 when your installation requires serial equipment. WR245 provides one RS232 port, one RS485 port and additional I/O; check these interfaces against your devices before selecting a model.
How should WR244 be powered?
WR244 can receive power through its four-pin Molex DC connector or its passive PoE PD interface. The PoE PD interface receives power; it does not supply power to downstream PoE devices. Check the ordered unit’s input rating and use a compatible passive PoE supply before installation.
Can WR244 switch to cellular if its Ethernet WAN fails?
Yes. WR244 supports failover between Ethernet WAN and cellular WAN. Configure the primary and backup connections and the failure-detection policy for your deployment. Existing sessions may need to reconnect when the WAN changes.
Can WR244 support VPN access and industrial data communication?
Yes. WR244 supports WireGuard, OpenVPN and IPsec for VPN access, as well as Modbus TCP client/server and MQTT broker, publisher and gateway functions. Configure VPN routing and the required device data mapping for your application.
