Can WR245 connect serial devices as well as Ethernet equipment?
Yes. WR245 supports one RS232 port, one RS485 port and four 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports. It also provides digital inputs, digital outputs, an analog input and a relay for industrial integration.
What cellular and Wi-Fi connections does WR245 support?
WR245 combines 4G LTE Cat 4 cellular access with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Its two SIM slots and automatic SIM switching let you configure an alternative SIM connection when needed.
How should WR245 be powered?
WR245 can receive power through its four-pin Molex DC connector or its passive PoE PD interface. The PoE PD interface receives power; it does not supply power to downstream PoE devices. Check the ordered unit’s input rating and use a compatible passive PoE supply before installation.
Can WR245 switch to cellular if its Ethernet WAN fails?
Yes. WR245 supports failover between Ethernet WAN and cellular WAN. Configure the primary and backup connections and the failure-detection policy for your deployment. Existing sessions may need to reconnect when the WAN changes.
Can WR245 support VPN access and industrial data communication?
Yes. WR245 supports WireGuard, OpenVPN and IPsec for VPN access, as well as Modbus TCP client/server and MQTT broker, publisher and gateway functions. Configure VPN routing and the required device data mapping for your application.
