Distributed Water Quality Monitoring

Overview:

In partnership with a leading Southeast Asian integrator, this project implements a distributed water quality monitoring system using a unified Industrial IoT architecture. The system monitors power meters, flow meters, and motors across multiple remote sites, feeding data into a SCADA platform for centralized analysis.

Leveraging Wavetel industrial-grade 4G routers as core gateways,the solution ensures secure remote data transmission, reduces deployment complexity, and minimizes hardware costs, transforming decentralized management into centralized control.

2. Modbus TCP-over-Serial Protocol Conversion

Converts legacy serial sensor data to IP-based protocols, enabling seamless integration of aging equipment.

3. Integrated IPsec VPN Tunneling

Establishes end-to-end encrypted data transmission tunnels to ensure that critical environmental monitoring data remains protected from unauthorized interception and tampering during transit over public networks.

4. Dual-SIM Failover & Persistent Link

Supports dual-operator redundancy; in the event of primary link failure, the system automatically performs a seamless failover to the backup link, ensuring uninterrupted real-time data reporting.

5. Ruggedized, Space-Saving Industrial Design

Features a ruggedized, high-temperature and vibration-resistant industrial housing with a compact design, enabling easy DIN-rail mounting within space-constrained power distribution boxes or outdoor cabinets.
