Does WR255 support 5G RedCap and 4G LTE?
Yes. WR255 supports both 5G RedCap on 5G SA networks and 4G LTE. Your operator must support RedCap on the bands used by your model.
Which wired devices can connect to WR255?
WR255 has four Ethernet ports, separate RS232 and RS485 ports, seven digital inputs, two digital outputs, an analog input and a relay.
How is WR255 powered?
Use the four-pin Molex DC connector or a compatible passive PoE supply. The PoE port powers the router; it does not power connected devices.
Can WR255 switch to cellular if Ethernet fails?
Yes. With WAN failover configured, WR255 can switch to cellular when Ethernet WAN fails. Active sessions may need to reconnect.
Which VPN and industrial protocols does WR255 support?
WR255 supports WireGuard, OpenVPN and IPsec, plus Modbus TCP and MQTT. See our VPN comparison guide to help choose a VPN.
